Welcome to Mezky

At Mezky, we love great whisky as much as we love great mezcal and complex agave flavours! The aim of Mezky is to bring out the best of aspects of these two smoky legends – complimenting Islay malt whisky smokiness with the slow-roasted char of mezcal agave pinas, that have been carefully cooked on a open fire for several days. We’ve approached this, first as an agave based spirit drink with a whisky edge, and now also as a whisky with a mezcal flavoured edge!


Our agave spirit expression is heavy with complex mezcal flavours, using a mix of clay pot distilled espadin, and tobala agaves to give earthy herbal depth, balanced by the charcoal barrel peatiness and toasted caramel, brought by the Islay barrel. Our whisky expression hosts a more subtle influence of smoked agave, via the Mezky barrel – along with the remnants of the Islay cask, this results in a totally unique, delicious whisky that is both bold on the palette and delicate with layers of smoke complimenting the sweetness. An extremely moreish and totally unique tasting whisky! We hope you enjoy our spirits as much as we do!

Mezky #1

This was our first expression for sale after years of experimenting with different combinations of barrels, mezcal/agave distillates and types of Islay whisky.

Tasting Notes –
Roasted vegetal agave notes, ever so slightly sweet, and a hint of spice and smoky charcoal notes.


Mezky #2

This was second expression that used a blend of espadin and Tobala Mezcal aged in Laphroaig Quater Cask Barrels.

Tasting Notes –
Herbal agave notes, toasted caramel.


Mezky Whisky

Our first whisky release is composed of a blend of rye and wheat distillates, made by the experts at Circumstance Distillery (Bristol, UK), then aged in our very unique Mezky barrel.

Tasting notes – Oily and sweet. Notes of toasted caramel with sea salt, on the nose leaving a drying freshly cut hay and smoked finish.
